Lindsey Close, PAS, is a Registered Professional Animal Scientist specializing in Equine and the founder of Close Equine Nutrition Consulting. With a deep specialization in feed milling and the formulation and application of hay-based complete feeds, Lindsey’s primary clientele are senior and geriatric horses. She has recently become passionate about generational impacts of nutrition and young horse development. As a certified Equine Nutrition Advisor through Legacy Equine Nutrition, her advisory work bridges the gap between nutritional reccomendations and practical stable-side implementation.

Lindsey brings a high-level operational perspective. In addition to her advisory practice, she serves as the Director of Operations and Sales Manager for Elk Grove Milling, Inc., where she manages manufacturing compliance and collaborates directly with leading PhD nutritionists on advanced ingredient technologies. This position gives her ground level insight into feed quality control, manufacturing standards, and ingredient integrity. This extensive commercial expertise is further bolstered by her academic leadership as an Adjunct Professor of Animal and Equine Science at a California-based Junior College, ensuring her nutritional recommendations remain at the absolute cutting edge of research.

Lindsey holds several certifications, a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with an emphasis in Equine Production Management, and is currently completing an MBA in Equine Management at Midway University (expected Fall 2026). She blends this rigorous academic background with a lifetime of practical equestrian experience as a competitive rider and the owner-operator of Close Ranch, a premier horse boarding facility specializing in dry lot management and senior care. This multi-faceted background gives Lindsey a distinct understanding of feed science, manufacturing nuances, and real-world stable management.
