Horses have been at the heart of my life since I was three years old. After years of riding and competing in show jumping, my passion gradually evolved into a deeper interest in equine health and nutrition. My own horses have been my greatest teachers, especially my mare who suffered from laminitis, whose challenges led me to better understand the complex relationship between nutrition, metabolism and overall well-being.
Today, as a Certified Equine Nutrition Advisor, I combine evidence-based nutritional knowledge with a holistic approach that considers the horse as a whole. I have a particular interest in horses with metabolic disorders and supporting those that need to regain condition, as well as optimizing the performance and recovery of sport horses through balanced nutrition. I also enjoy incorporating herbs when appropriate, an approach that is widely embraced in Europe and complements evidence-based nutritional management.
My goal is to help owners understand their horses’ individual needs and provide practical, personalized recommendations that promote long-term health, comfort and performance. I believe that every horse is unique, and that the right nutritional balance can make a profound difference in both quality of life and athletic potential.
Testimonials
“Bravo is a 14-year-old Selle Français gelding with 80% Thoroughbred blood. He has been my partner for the past eight years, unfortunately retired because of kissing spine. During that time, I spent years trying to find the right balance to support his health and well-being.
Bravo is an extremely sensitive horse. We changed stables several times in search of an environment that would truly suit him until we finally found a place that met his fundamental needs. However, he was extremely underweight and remained very sensitive from a digestive point of view, just as he had always been.
I am not an expert in equine nutrition, and I honestly felt helpless. Even though I was feeding him high-quality and expensive pellets, free choice hay, I saw they were not enough to improve his comfort or restore his condition.
Johanna started working with Bravo in October 2025. I was impressed by the level of details she requested about his medical history, environment, management and lifestyle before making any recommendations.
She first assessed the pellets I was already feeding and confirmed that they were a good choice, but not sufficient. She then reviewed his entire diet, including forage intake, feed quantities and supplements, while also looking for cost-effective alternatives that would fit my budget.
Johanna closely monitored Bravo throughout the process, taking regular measurements, asking for updates on how he was feeling, and comparing photographs to track his progress. After 3 months, Bravo is stunning! The most incredible change was his digestive comfort. For the first time since I have owned him, his abdominal sensitivity had disappeared!
Today, Bravo is happy and relaxed. He plays with his friends, moves freely and no longer appears to be in pain. Seeing him like this is an immense relief and brings me so much happiness.
Thank you Johanna!”
