Marquise Equine Nutrition

Amber Massey, MA, PAS

Travelers Rest, SC

I didn’t start studying equine nutrition because I was searching for a career path. My journey began because I wanted answers for my own horse—for his muscles, his joints, his performance, and his future. I wanted to know I was making the best decisions possible, and that pursuit of knowledge ultimately became a profession. Today, I believe every horse, senior companion, weekend trail partner, elite athlete, or metabolic rehab case, deserves nutrition that supports long-term health and quality of life.

With a master’s degree in Exercise Science, I developed a deep appreciation for the role nutrition plays in performance, recovery, and longevity. These same foundational principles led me to pursue advanced education in equine nutrition, earning credentials as a Professional Animal Scientist (PAS), Level III Equine Nutrition Advisor, and NFTA Certified Forage Sampler. Combining scientific knowledge with practical application, and often working as a team with barn managers and veterinarians, I help horse owners navigate the often-confusing world of feeds, supplements, forage, and nutrition management with confidence.

My mission is simple: to help horse owners understand what their horses truly need and create practical nutrition plans that deliver measurable results. Every recommendation is evidence-based, independent, and tailored to the individual horse. Whether you're feeding for performance, managing a health condition, or simply seeking peace of mind, my goal is to help you stop guessing and start seeing results.

Testimonials

I was crushed when my 9 yo Lusitano mare was diagnosed with insulin resistance and Cushings last summer. I had heard Amber Massey speak several times on equine nutrition topics, and asked her to consult.. Over the course of the next 6 months, Luna lost over 100 lbs and normalized her metabolic stats by following Amber’s customized protocol. She is a wealth of knowledge, always available for questions and very results-oriented. Her coaching made all the difference and gave me the confidence and knowledge to manage this serious condition. Her assistance was priceless, but I am sure that I would have spent more on trial and error treatment. I highly recommend her for optimum nutritional maintenance for every horse.
