Susan (Sue) Fanelli has spent more than 55 years working with, training, and caring for horses. She is the founder of EQ-Knowledge, LLC, where she provides independent equine nutrition consulting and education to horse owners, farms, and equine professionals. Sue is a Legacy Level 3 Certified Equine Nutrition Advisor with a passion for helping owners make science-based nutrition decisions that support the health and well-being of their horses. Sue's goal is simple: to provide horse owners with independent, science-based guidance that helps every horse thrive.
In addition to her work in equine nutrition, Sue is a dedicated advocate for equine welfare. She is a founding member of the Equine Welfare Collaborative of Virginia, a 501(c)(3) organization committed to supporting certified rescues and educating both law enforcement and the public on equine welfare issues.
Over the course of her equestrian career, Sue has raised and trained nationally competitive show horses, contributed to the development of rulebooks for a national breed organization, and served in leadership roles throughout Virginia's horse industry. Her service includes the Virginia Horse Council Foundation Board of Directors, the Virginia Horse Industry Board (Past President), the National Walking Horse Association, and the Virginia Horse Council.
Outside the horse industry, Sue was a chemist with more than 30 years of experience in environmental laboratory management, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) programs, and hazardous waste management. Her scientific background brings a practical, evidence-based approach to equine nutrition and welfare, helping clients separate fact from marketing and make informed decisions for their horses.
