Connie entered the world of equine nutrition because of the love of a horse. Her mare, Daisy, was a hard keeper Thoroughbred with a picky appetite and who left this world too soon. Through the grief of losing Daisy, Conniedecided she wanted to help other horse owners spend more time with their horses than worrying about them and joined the Legacy Equine Nutrition Advisor program in 2024, successfully completing ENA I, II, and ENA III, Critical Research Review.

Connie is originally from Tallahassee, Florida and holds a BA in Theater with a minor in Art History from Florida State University. She lives in Denver, Colorado and consults in-person across the front range of Colorado and has virtual clients all over the country. Connie specializes in hard keepers, horses with digestive issues, competition horses, and metabolic equines. Using a no-nonsense, scientific-based approach, she loves to optimize the diet of horses for their health and longevity while supporting owners as they learn how to advocate for their horse’s species-specific needs.

Testimonials

β€œMy horse, Buck, has struggled with recurrent colic episodes for the last few years. After multiple rounds of veterinary diagnostics did not identify the cause of these episodes, I reached out to Connie to see if she could help evaluate Buck’s diet. After taking all aspects of Buck’s daily life into account and discussing Buck with my DVM, Connie proposed diet plan options that were balanced and could also help address Buck’s special needs. Connie has been incredibly thorough and I have learned so much from her. Hiring Connie is the best decision I have made and has quite literally been life changing in the best way possible. I am really grateful to have Connie on my horse care team.”

β€œConnie has been such a valuable resource in helping me fine-tune my horse’s diet for gut health and weight management. I love that she has done the research on the research and knows what works and why, and I also love that she has clients under her belt who have seen results from specific supplements!

Connie is great at creating a plan for the ideal scenario, and she also knows that we can’t always achieve the ideal and will help you come up with solutions that you can implement. And I think what I value most about Connie is HER β€” her personality, her sense of humor, and her directness are refreshing, and she’s always ready with words of genuine support when you need it.”

β€œMy OTTB was recently diagnosed with MFM (Myofibrillar Myopathy), which requires a specialized, rather complicated diet. As I have been sharing with all those in my barn, hiring an equine nutritionist to tell me what to buy & feed him has been the ** BEST ** choice for both him and me. I started with the 30-day consult & moved to Annual partnership as he is a complicated case aside from the MFM. Connie’s direction reduced my stress significantly - especially when I had to send him out of state to PT and she provided products that I could easily drop-ship to facility. I am so glad that what he’s eating isn’t something I have to worry about at all. I couldn’t be happier with her simple, clear instructions, links to products and nutritional analysis, and her science-based explanations & provided citations that even a layman can understand. She is empathetic, extremely knowledgeable, highly organized & a great communicator. In addition, Connie is very conscious of protecting your feed budget while getting best nutritional results for your horse. I am so glad to have her on our team! Thank you, Connie!”

β€œConnie was very knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. I have a bit of a diva young 17.3hh warmblood that has had some bouts with ulcers in the past. He was always hard to keep weight on, and he’s generally a stressed out traveler. I just kept on adding more and more different supplements, medications, grains, meals per day to keep him performing well. It was becoming way too much!

Connie cut everything out and started back from scratch. First picking the hay/alfalfa/grain ratios to fulfill his needs as a young horse in full training. Then she added only the very necessary supplements that are important for this particular horse.

Kronos has never looked and felt better! His weight looks and feels great, his coat is shiny, and he is happy.

I highly recommend working with Connie. I was a bit worried that the consultations would have to be through zoom, since we’re so far apart, but it worked out great!! And as promised, Connie is just one text away if I have any additional/new questions.

Thank you, Connie!”
