Nothing compares to this!
Truly, there are not enough good things to say about Dr Rachel Mottet and Legacy Equine Nutrition. I have taken a number of equine nutrition courses online and at the university level and none compare to the amount of real-world content Dr Rachel Mottet shares. Critical thinking reaches a new level as evaluating the horse's nutritional status goes beyond the horse's body and feed to encompass environment, management and everything in-between. That's not enough for you? Weekly live sessions covering case studies and business growth and development are invaluable. If you desire to improve the health of your horse or pursue a career in equine nutrition, look no further than Legacy Equine Nutrition.

Like nothing else out there!
Rachel has created an amazing nutrition course which is clearly presented and thoughtfully put together. She explains everything extremely well and is very responsive if you have questions. I have taken the Nutrition Advisor I course and plan to take the next course as well. Even though I already have a Masters degree in Equine Science and have been working in the industry for over 20 years, there is still so much to learn and this is such a convenient way to learn. I love the self-paced course that fits into my busy schedule! I don't believe that there is anyone else in the world with Rachel's knowledge about nutrition science, industry experience and communication skills. I would highly recommend that anyone who makes feeding decisions for horses utilizes Rachel for furthering their education!

I am lucky to have her available to me
Rachel has been coming to my barn to evaluate my feeding program for many years. I am lucky to have her available to me at anytime, with any questions or concerns, regarding all types of horses. My show horses are successful today in part to her knowledge of brands, and the contents that are in them. We customize a feeding program to each horse, taking into consideration how much they show, train, age, and lifestyle. It is very helpful to have Rachel assisting with keeping them at their top shape, and maximizing their potential in the show ring.

Rachel helped me turn my horses into healthier horses, happier partners and better athletes.
I have been involved in the equine industry for 27 years as an instructor, trainer and stable manager. I studied basic equine nutrition at university and generally considered myself to be well versed in regards to feeding my horses a well planned, budget-friendly, safe and nutritious diet. That's when I met Rachel and I found out that there was a whole lot that I didn't know. Rachel helped me turn my horses into healthier horses, happier partners and better athletes. As a budget-conscious horse owner with other budget-conscious clientele, it's important to me that I have confidence in the equine professionals that I work with. I am always astounded by her joy in her work, her excitement in sharing her knowledge, and her drive to continuing to learn as much as possible. She lives in the same world that I do, where performance matters. I feel like she gets me and what I'm trying to achieve as she is herself a very accomplished rider and competitor. I can say, without a doubt, that Rachel Mottet is one of my best kept secret weapons for getting the best performance out of my horses. No one I have ever worked with has ever compared to her passion for horses and the people who love them. I recommend Rachel to all of my clients and friends, and I am happy to say that I would recommend her to you as well.

We revised our feed program and saved over $18,000 in feed costs in the first year alone.
I co-operate a large horse rescue and have many horses on my own property. About 5 years ago, I was looking to make a change in our feeding program while still providing a high quality economical product to meet the nutritional needs of my horses. After meeting with Rachel and having her evaluate our herds, we revised our feed program and saved over $18,000 in feed costs in the first year alone. We did this while still keeping our herd healthy and providing complete nutritional balance to all of our horses. Rachel has always been a phone call away with whatever we need including educating us on our horse’s nutrition. She also comes out every 6 weeks and evaluates each individual horse to make sure their feeding schedule and body condition is optimal. I have never met anyone in this industry so well informed and dedicated to keeping her customers satisfied. Our staff is annually offered feeding seminars on equine nutrition at no charge and Rachel has become a part of the barn family. I knew if I ever had a question on a horse's body condition, a simple phone call to Rachel and she would appear at one of the properties and solve our problem. The amount of knowledge that she has and has shared with us is priceless.

Rachel understands the science behind equine nutrition, is up on the latest research and has a passion for helping horse owners keep healthy, long-lived horses.
Rachel has been working with our herd of 46-50 horses for about 6 years. We have a range of nutrition needs, from oldsters to lesson horses, easy keepers, a pregnant mare, growing youngsters and those in competition. We started with a string of oldsters and watched them put on weight, fill out their toplines and gain energy with her suggested regimen. One lived to be 36 and happily kept giving lessons to the end. Rachel has developed budget-conscious feeding plans for our easy keepers, and she went out of her way to help us with a very sick horse who developed an autoimmune disease and had to be removed from hay all together. That horse bounced back, living longer and more comfortably thanks to Rachel researching the best feeding plan. Rachel understands the science behind equine nutrition, is up on the latest research and has a passion for helping horse owners keep healthy, long-lived horses.

Her recommendations have helped our horses maintain a nutritious diet and healthy weight. Rachel, you are the best!
Two years ago my husband and I purchased a boarding facility. In coming up with a feed plan that fits the general population of our boarded horses, we consulted with Rachel. At that time she evaluated our hay, current horses, their activity level and made recommendations accordingly. Her recommendations have helped our horses maintain a nutritious diet and healthy weight. Rachel, you are the best!
